Summertime, Camp & a Note Card

Summer vacation is well underway. You might have a child, grandchild or just a friend who is going to summer camp. Or perhaps your child is with a grandparent for a week or two.

Sometimes it's harder for the parent to be away from the child than it is for the child to be away from the parent. No matter what, a child wants to know that they are missed, no matter how much they don't show it.

In this technological age of texting, it may seem that we are constantly communicating with others but are we really saying anything with substance when we text?

When your loved ones are away or even live far away, a handwritten card or letter can leave them feeling special. Taking the opportunity to do so weighs far more than a text. It can give a child a feeling of independence rather than the feeling that you are just checking up on them.

So, enjoy your time away from your children and know that even though they may not express it, they do want to hear from you. Why not express your love for them in a simple note?
